BurnsBarton is a WBENC (Women Business Enterprise National Council) and NAMWOLF (National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms) certified woman-owned law firm, founded in 2012.  We are a group of Big Law attorneys who have gone small to provide excellent client service at a lower cost.  Without the bureaucracy and overhead that comes with a large firm, our lawyers can focus on what they do best: advising and defending employers efficiently, effectively, and successfully.  Our firm helps employers in every aspect of human resource law.  We counsel our clients on a day-to-day basis to find creative employment solutions that avoid claims.  But when claims inevitably arise, we defend our clients in litigation ranging from single-plaintiff discrimination claims to nationwide wage and hour class action lawsuits.  We also assist our employer-clients with commercial litigation matters, including breach of contract and restrictive covenant lawsuits.  We have earned a high degree of trust and loyalty from our clients because of the exceptional results we achieve for them, the high level of client service we provide, and the cost-effectiveness of our representation.

About BurnsBarton LLP

Who We Are

We are a group of experienced litigators and employment counselors – we don’t spend our clients’ money training rookies.  Most of our attorneys spent their careers with large, national law firms before joining BurnsBarton.  Our clients hire us for our expertise and experience and we give each matter our personal attention.  Our rates are significantly lower than our big firm competitors, and we are committed to providing efficient service to our clients.  We know that it is difficult for good employers to pay big firm overhead in litigation matters, so we have kept our overhead low.  We want to give our clients the option of taking a case to trial rather than settling just to avoid legal fees.  We don’t have a marketing department, we don’t own a suite at the ballpark, and we don’t staff cases the way large national firms do – i.e., we don’t push work down to the lowest-cost (and least-experienced) associates.  When you hire us, you get us, and our low overhead allows us to keep fees affordable.

Our Clients

Our clients are responsible employers who follow the law and treat their employees fairly.  We know that to effectively represent our clients, we need to understand their businesses inside and out.  That is why we take the time (off the clock) to visit with our clients, see their operations, get to know their people, and understand what is important to their success.  This helps us provide them with the best legal advice and the most effective representation in court.  As a result, we have a select group of very happy clients who tell us that we are the most effective and cost-efficient lawyers they use.  Our clients range from Fortune 100 companies like Kroger, Intel, and United Parcel Service (for whom we are Core Counsel in the Southwest), to Arizona-based companies that operate on national and international platforms like GoDaddy, Forever Living Products, Swift Transportation, ASML US, Inc., and Fox Restaurant Concepts, to local Arizona companies like Barnet Dulaney Perkins Eye Center, Arizona Instrument, Kingman Regional Medical Center, and Integrated Medical Services.  References are available upon request.

Our Results

We take pride in counseling our clients on day-to-day employment matters to help them avoid employment claims and disputes.  However, if litigation cannot be avoided, our team of seasoned litigators has a proven track record of success in the courtroom and we regularly resolve cases on dispositive motions.  We are not afraid to take cases to trial, if it is in our client’s best interest.  We have tried cases in federal and state court jurisdictions across the country and as a result we understand how to advise our clients to make sound, legally defensible decisions that will present well to a jury. We like to say we provide trial-tested advice.  We recognize that sometimes our clients’ best interests are served by settling cases, however, and our track record of consistently obtaining defense verdicts helps us reach favorable settlements.
