Bonita L. Hatchett, Esq., Of Counsel To Benton Potter & Murdock, P.C., Has Been Invited To Chair A Panel Entitled “How to Avoid Costly Legal Risks When Managing A Corporate Merger or Acquisition”

Ms. Hatchett’s Panel will take place at the first Minority In-House Counsel Association Conference to be held in Chicago, September 9^th– 11^th , 2015.  The panel will address the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”), which poses significant risks, ERISA liability exposure, and insurance and finance issues that must be considered in corporate mergers and acquisitions.  The Panel will explore best practices to ensure proper consideration of potentially costly current statutory and regulatory issues, and will offer guidance from actual transactions in which members of the esteemed Panel had a significant role.  The Panel will include General Counsels from two (2) public companies in the insurance and technology industries, senior in-house counsels in the pharmaceutical and food services industries, as well as a former 28 year automotive industry in-house counsel with experience as general counsel in the company’s domestic, European and African operations.
