Skane Wilcox LLP was formed in 2010 by Liz Skane and Wendy Wilcox after working together as partners in another firm. Liz and Wendy had a common goal to provide representation in litigated matters with a focus on cost effectiveness and communication. The firm is a small to medium boutique firm that works to develop long lasting relationships with their clients which range from small to large companies, insurers, and public entities including cities, counties and others. They went on to build a reputation for aggressive pursuit of case resolution coupled with a willingness to try a case to verdict if the case is incapable of effective resolution. Both Liz and Wendy have tried numerous cases to verdict in both State and Federal court in Nevada and California.

Skane Wilcox represents clients who are insured under employment practices liability policies as well as uninsured employers. We represent individuals and companies involving claims of wrongful (or retaliatory) discharge, sexual harassment or discrimination. We advise companies on all human resources areas, including assisting companies in creating and managing employee handbooks. The firm’s approach is to work closely with the clients to quickly identify and value such claims and to resolve or terminate them quickly and economically by settlement, arbitration, motion or, only where necessary, trial.
PUBLIC ENTITY
Skane Wilcox handles personal injury, property damage, civil rights and employment cases for public entities. These cases range from providing evaluation reports to representing the public entity through trial. We have also handled construction-related cases for public entities where we have been retained to represent the public entity because of indemnification and additional insured obligations stemming from our contractor clients.

PREMISES LIABILITY
Skane Wilcox has a specific practice in the representation of commercial, individual and public entity landowners. Our attorneys are well-versed in analyzing the issues involved in litigating premises liability cases. We provide a broad range of services including the litigation of construction site accidents and the defense of suits arising out of third party criminal acts perpetrated on the premises. Through the development of close relationships with our clients, we focus on preventing litigation through ongoing legal advice.
CONSTRUCTION LITIGATION
Skane Wilcox has been successfully defending general contractors, subcontractors and construction managers for many years. In particular, we represent all subcontractor trades and are knowledgeable how each trade affects the other in the construction of residential and commercial properties. We have handled cases that involve tract homes, high-end single family homes, apartment buildings, condominiums, mixed used buildings and small and large commercial properties.
TRUCKING & TRANSPORTATION
Skane Wilcox represents motor carriers in the areas of trucking and transportation. We represent a variety of companies including small trucking companies, private fleet operators and shipping companies. We have an understanding of the wide variety of regulations that cover motor carriers at both the state and federal level and handle cases involving death, catastrophic injury including traumatic brain injury, cargo losses, property damage and regulatory compliance in all areas of trucking and transportation.
