Peter Carter

Executive Vice President – External Affairs

Delta

Peter Carter is Delta’s Executive Vice President – External Affairs overseeing international, legal, regulatory, government affairs, sustainability, and diversity, equity, and inclusion teams worldwide. Peter has also served as Delta’s Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary since July 2015 and is a member of the Delta Leadership Committee.

Peter focuses on optimizing Delta’s international partnerships, ensuring Delta’s freedom to operate, protecting Delta’s brand, and advocating for Delta’s interests before policymakers around the world. He also oversees Delta’s sustainability strategy of reaching our net-zero goals by 2050 and Delta’s DEI initiatives.

Peter works closely with Delta’s international partners advancing our joint venture matters and regularly engages with government stakeholders on matters relating to competition policy, alliances, privacy, and compliance. During the height of the pandemic, he helped secure support from Congress and administration officials leading to the passage of the CARES Act.

Before joining Delta, Peter was a partner at the international law firm of Dorsey & Whitney LLP, where he chaired the firm’s Policy Committee. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and has been recognized by numerous organizations and publications, including being honored with a Burton Award for public interest, being named one of “America’s Leading Business Lawyers” by Chambers USA, and being named Antitrust Lawyer of the Year in 2013 by Best Lawyers in America. Before joining Dorsey, Peter clerked for Judge James B. Loken at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

Peter serves as a member of the Boards of Virgin Atlantic Airways, the SkyTeam Global Airline Alliance, the Delta Air Lines Foundation, the United Way of Greater Atlanta, the Minnesota Business Partnership, and the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, which he chaired in 2020. He also serves on New York City Mayor Eric Adam’s Business Leadership Council and previously served as a member of the State of Georgia Judicial Selection Commission. 

Kimberly Phillips

General Counsel, Global Litigation

Shell USA, Inc.

Kimberly is an accomplished leader of global teams with a proven ability to deliver results through others, drive global strategies and initiatives, and align diverse teams around common business goals and practices. She is a seasoned legal professional with experience in both the private law firm and corporate legal environments. In her current General Counsel role, she leads a team of 70 lawyers and legal professionals, sitting in 7 countries, who are responsible for managing Shell’s disputes across the globe. She sits on the Global Legal Leadership Team and formerly supported a Shell subsidiary business as a Board Director.

Prior to joining Shell, Kimberly was an associate and later a partner in a private law firm’s Dallas and Houston offices where she handled trial and appellate matters in state and federal courts, garnering numerous published appellate decisions. She is Board certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She was voted Best Associate General Counsel in a Large Company by the Houston Business Journal and received the Best Corporate Counsel Award by the National Bar Association, Women Lawyer’s Division, and the Cora T. Walker Legacy Award by the Commercial Law Section of the National Bar Association. She received the Premier Women in Law Award from the Association of Women Attorneys Foundation, the Excellence in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award from the Institute for Energy Law, and the Legacy of Leadership Award from Thurgood Marshall School of Law.

Kimberly is a 1993 graduate of Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University where she was the Class Valedictorian. She and her husband, Jason, enjoy golf, football and eating desserts.

Teresa Wynn Roseborough

Executive Vice President – General Counsel & Corporate Secretary

The Home Depot

Teresa Wynn Roseborough is responsible for all of The Home Depot’s legal functions worldwide, including securities, litigation, employment, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, store operations, risk management and intellectual property. As corporate secretary, Teresa serves as a liaison between the board of directors and the company and is responsible for all corporate governance matters. She also is responsible for the company’s government relations.

Before joining The Home Depot in 2011, Teresa held several positions in the legal department of MetLife, including deputy general counsel and senior chief counsel for litigation and compliance. Prior to MetLife, Teresa was a partner at Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP, where her practice focused on complex litigation matters at both the trial and appellate level, including before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Teresa’s more than 25 years of legal experience also includes government service as deputy assistant attorney general for the U.S. Department of Justice, where she provided legal counsel to the White House and all executive branch agencies; law clerk for Justice John Paul Stevens of the U.S. Supreme Court and Judge James Dickson Phillips of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit; an employee of the Department of Defense in West Germany.

Teresa was named one of 25 Influential Black Women in Business by The Network Journal and as one of America’s top black attorneys by Black Enterprise. Her civic involvements include serving as a public member of the Administrative Conference of the U.S., a fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers, a member of the boards of directors of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and of the Board of Overseers of the RAND Corporation Institute for Civil Justice.

Teresa earned a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Virginia, a master’s degree in education from Boston University, and a juris doctor with high honors from the University of North Carolina School of Law, where she was editor-in-chief of the Law Review.
