Willenken LLP is pleased to announce that Peter Shimamoto is joining the firm as partner, effective January 1, 2020.
Peter brings more than 30 years of complex commercial litigation experience to Willenken, with a particular emphasis on entertainment and intellectual property matters. He honed his practice at law firms in New York and Los Angeles, including Irell & Manella LLP, before starting his own firm, Insignis Law.
Peter has litigated cases involving some of the nation’s leading artists, motion picture studios, television networks, television production companies, and music companies. He has handled numerous cases involving issues relating to profit participation, copyright infringement, trademark infringement, licensing and distribution, financing, breach of contract, trade secrets, defamation, fraud, and breach of fiduciary duty, among many others. Peter has extensive experience in all aspects of civil litigation in federal court, state court, and arbitrations, from pre-filing through trial and appeal.
