The Los Angeles Business Journal recently selected DTO as winner for its 2023 “Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Company of the Year – Small Business” Award. This distinguished recognition commemorates Los Angeles-based organizations for their ongoing efforts to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace as well as within business leadership. DTO was up against several worthy candidates.
Wells Fargo presented DTO with this award at LABJ’s Diversity, Equity + Inclusion Symposium and Awards ceremony, which was held on March 29, 2023 at JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE.
The recognition spotlights DTO’s ongoing commitment to DEI, within the Firm and the broader legal community. In the four years since the Firm was founded, DTO has been continuously commended for its initiatives to promote diversity and inclusion, with active memberships in various national DEI organizations. The firm has recently won similar awards from Chambers and the National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF).
Founding Partner and Litigation Chair, Megan O’Neill, spoke at the DE+I Symposium on an all-female panel entitled, “The Cost of Inequity.” The insightful panel discussion, comprised of women from LA Metro, Wells Fargo Bank, and the Children’s Bureau, explored the importance of implementing DEI strategies across all industries. Megan provided nuanced insight into the obstacles the legal industry faces in regard to the retention and advancement of women and people of color, and the next steps for addressing these systemic barriers.
