Liebler, Gonzalez & Portuondo is a full-service law firm established in 1997. Our founding shareholders have worked together for over twenty-five years in the successful representation of numerous large institutions and sophisticated business entities. This combined experience gives our firm a unique understanding of the needs of large commercial institutions, from both a business and legal perspective. Each partner at the firm leads a dynamic team.

Liebler, Gonzalez & Portuondo’s Financial Institution defense practice group represents its clients in all aspects of litigation, including the defense of lender liability claims, defense of deposit and branch based claims, defense of claw back and Ponzi related claims, consumer finance claims (including those based on residential mortgages, credit cards, and consumer loans), and violations of state and federal securities laws.

Liebler, Gonzalez & Portuondo’s Transactional practice group represents lenders and financial institutions in commercial lending and the restructuring of defaulted loans. The group structures and documents commercial transactions, including transactions secured by real estate and various types of personal property. The Transaction practice group also assists investors in the formation of business entities, and all aspects of the acquisition, sale, development, syndication, and leasing of commercial and residential properties.

The Liebler, Gonzalez & Portuondo Labor & Employment Group has the depth of experience to handle virtually any employment issue a big or small company may face. In a pro-active effort to comply with the myriad of local, state and federal laws, we counsel and advise our clients on their day-to-day workplace issues and train management on ways to avoid or successfully defend lawsuits. Our Labor & Employment Group attorneys have extensive experience handling employment matters before administrative agencies, arbitrators and judges. We have successfully compelled arbitration and defended our corporate clients against single,  plaintiff and class/collective action plaintiffs. When faced with class or collective actions, the LGP Labor & Employment Group is ready to defend such cases,  including opposing class/collective action certification at the early stages of litigation. Our experienced attorneys have successfully thwarted efforts by plaintiff’s attorneys to unethically solicit putative class members nationwide.

The LGP Labor & Employment Group frequently counsels employers on how best to handle internal employment matters in an effort to avoid time consuming and costly lawsuits. We partner with our clients to ensure that they receive practical advice when dealing with one of their largest assets, employees. We also  understand that today’s workforce is extremely diverse and have in turn hired diverse attorneys to provide pro-active and strategic counseling, train management and employees (in English and Spanish), conduct internal investigations (in English and Spanish), and conduct employment-related audits where requested.
