On January 1, 2014, the law firms of Brown Stone Nimeroff and Wynn McGarry joined forces to create a dynamic new firm with offices based in Center City Philadelphia and Wilmington, Delaware. Brown McGarry Nimeroff LLC is a law firm that provides legal services in the areas of litigation, bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, workers’ compensation and business counseling. Brown McGarry Nimeroff offers business, corporate, and employer clients the experience with complex litigation most commonly found at major law firms in the more agile and responsive atmosphere of a small practice. Its members have years of experience in handling sophisticated and complex matters in large firms and proven track record of success in commercial and employment litigation as well as bankruptcy/creditor’s rights matters. The three owners of BMN formerly worked together for many years in the Philadelphia office of a large Pittsburgh-based law firm.
In 2007, Mary Kay Brown, Jami Nimeroff and Antoinette Stone, formed Brown Stone Nimeroff, LLC (“BSN”), a wholly woman-owned law firm headquartered in Center City Philadelphia, and concentrated their practices in commercial litigation and creditor’s rights. The founders of BSN started the firm with an initial capital contribution of $25,000 from each owner.
In 2005, Ray McGarry and Matt Wynn, created Wynn McGarry LLC (“WM”), a firm headquartered in King of Prussia and focused their practice on litigation and workers’ compensation. Through the years, these former colleagues and friends maintained contact and referred matters to each other. After the passing of Ms. Stone, the remaining owners of BSN and WM decided to join forces to increase both physical presence and array of legal service offerings. The owners of BSN and WM contributed the assets of each firm to the new firm, Brown Wynn Mc Garry Nimeroff LLC, including client base, accounts receivable, cash on hand, employees and furniture and fixtures. On July 17, 2015 Matt Wynn left the firm to pursue a solo worker’s compensation practice.
Six months later, Sigmund Fleck joined the firm as a member and opened the firm’s West Chester office, staffed by four experienced litigators. This addition enhanced the firm’s existing capabilities in commercial, banking, lender liability and employment litigation and work-outs. It also expanded its capabilities in insurance defense work, including litigating cases involving product liability, environmental damage, motor vehicle law, contract, premises liability, service/hotel industry, construction and contractor, the automotive and trucking industry, bad faith coverage, governmental immunity and eminent domain issues. In addition, the firm’s West Chester office offers counseling to closely held businesses and professionals on topics including corporate compliance, financing, entity formation, employment disputes, partnership disputes, equipment leasing issues, and complex commercial transactions.
