NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE UPDATE
How You Can Support NAMWOLF So That It Can Support You
By John Murdock – Benton, Potter & Murdock, P.C.
I am pleased and excited to have been asked to succeed Justi Rae Miller of Berens & Miller as the Chair of the National Development Committee of NAMWOLF. Justi and the Committee did a tremendous job this year, significantly exceeding the target for obtaining sponsorship and vendorship funds to support NAMWOLF’s operational costs and the costs of the Annual and mid-year Business meetings.
The National Development Committee leads and coordinates NAMWOLF’s efforts to obtain sponsorship and vendorship funds that defray NAMWOLF’s operational costs and the costs of the Annual and mid-year Business meetings. As overall costs rise and NAMWOLF attracts additional in-house corporate counsel who attend at no cost, sponsorship and vendorship funds become even more important. Law firm dues and registration payments for the Annual and mid-year Business meetings make up only a percentage of NAMWOLF’s total budget.
Among the goals for 2015 is to increase the number of NAMWOLF member law firms that support NAMWOLF as sponsors for the Annual Meeting, which will be in Los Angeles, September 16-19, 2015. The number of sponsoring law firms doubled in the last year as more firms realize the value of sponsorship for NAMWOLF and for themselves. Sponsorship not only supports NAMWOLF’s goals, it can be a creative and fun way to promote your brand and tell in-house counsel and your fellow law firm members who you are. A list of sponsorship opportunities is listed on the NAMWOLF website HERE.
If you have suggestions for a sponsorship, let us know. Of course, you can simply make a donation. No donation amount is too small and, not surprisingly, no amount is too large. Firms, vendors and corporate sponsors are already committing to particular sponsorship opportunities, so act early.
GET INVOLVED! The National Development Committee is also actively seeking additional participants from NAMWOLF member law firms. The National Development Committee and its subcommittee meetings are typically held once monthly and at the Business Meeting. The membership of the Committee includes board members, law firm members and corporate in house members. We welcome any members who would be interested in joining.
