Ramón Worthington, P.L.L.C. has offices in McAllen, South Padre Island and in Austin, Texas. Our legal team is made up of Sofia Ramón, Dan Worthington, Liz Cantu, Sarah Nicolas, Steve Bosky, Natalie Tarnosky, Shellie Smith and Christiana Dijkman.

Dan is a former President of TADC, is currently a National Director of the Defense Research Institute (DRI) and is on the Lawyers’ Committee of the National Center for State Courts.

Sofia Ramòn has been practicing law for 26 years and has represented defendants in lawsuits involving personal and catastrophic injury or death, transportation law, products liability, toxic torts, commercial and class action cases and first party/bad faith insurance litigation. She has been Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent® rated since 2001 and currently serves as the Texas Association of Defense Counsel (TADC) Area Vice President for Corpus Christi and the Rio Grande Valley. Dan Worthington’s career has spanned 26 years, during which he has successfully tried numerous lawsuits and arbitrations on behalf of corporate and individual clients in various types of cases. He has been a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent® rated attorney since 2001 and was selected as a Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters and as published by Texas Monthly, every year since 2005, and was named one of the “Top 50 Center and West Texas Region Attorneys” in 2007.

Liz Cantu has been practicing law since 1999 and has handled the litigation of civil suits, including cases involving personal and catastrophic injury, commercial litigation and insurance defense. She was selected as a Rising Star by Thomson Reuters and as published by Texas Monthly, is the Secretary for the Hidalgo County Bar Association and Hidalgo County Bar Foundation and is the President-elect of the Women’s Bar Section.

Sarah Nicolas is a litigator who has been practicing since 1999. She has represented both corporate and individual clients in various types of cases, including complex commercial litigation of varying types, products liability, construction defect, professional liability (legal malpractice), serious injury and death, breach of fiduciary duty, and many others. Sarah was selected as a Rising Star Thomson Reuters and as published by Texas Monthly, from 2007 to 2014.

WHO WE ARE:

Ramón Worthington, PLLC was founded on July 1, 2017, by Sofia Ramón, Dan Worthington, Elizabeth Cantu and Sarah Nicolas. Sofia, Dan, Liz and Sarah were all partners of the McAllen, Texas based law firm of Atlas, Hall & Rodriguez, LLP. Dan and Sofia had each been with Atlas, Hall & Rodriguez, LLP for more than twenty years. Joining the four partners in their law firm are of counsel Christiana Dijkman, and associates Steve Bosky, Natalie Tarnosky, and Shellie Smith.

The four founding partners have extensive trial experience with an emphasis on business litigation. Sofia, Dan, Liz and Sarah have successfully represented clients in dozens of trials and arbitration proceedings throughout the state. These trials have included claims arising out of breach of contract disputes, breach of the duty of good faith and fair dealing, fraud, misrepresentations and similar commercial disputes. In addition, they have represented their clients in a variety of personal injury and wrongful death claims ranging from automobile accidents to workplace events. As a whole, the firm is committed to their clients’ needs by delivering the attention small firms are known for but obtaining results that make larger firms household names.

Beyond our service to our clients, Ramón Worthington is also committed to serving the community as well. Our lawyers have served with numerous community boards and organizations. For example, Dan is currently serving as President of the McAllen-South Rotary Club. In addition, we have served with numerous other community organizations.

Within the profession, our lawyers frequently speak at State and National conferences and education programs.
